Last week, a man took his children to a restaurant.THE six-year-old son asked if he could say grace. As
they bowed their heads he said, "God is good, God is great. Thank you
for the food, and I would even thank you more if Mom gets us ice cream
for dessert. And Liberty and justice for all! Amen!” Along with
the laughter from the other customers nearby, he heard a woman remark,
"That’s what’s wrong with this country. Kids today don’t even know how
to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!” Hearing this, the son burst into tears and asked me, "Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?” As
the man held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job, and
God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the
table. He winked at the son and said, "I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer.” "Really?” the son asked. "Cross my heart,” the man replied. Then,
in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose remark
had started this whole thing), "Too bad she never asks God for ice
cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes.” Naturally,
the man bought to kids ice cream at the end of the meal. the son stared
at his for a moment, and then did something to be remembered the rest
of life. He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, "Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is good already.”
I know, I shouldn't write such things anymore, but I think we have something to learn from this story. Everybody says that we believe in God (there are some exceptions). However, most of people doesn't show it. This little guy ask little things God and also says him "thanks". it doesn't matter how he says it. people say that we believe that everything in the world has been created by God, all gifts have been given by God. but only few people say "thanks". Imagine a person who is very rich or let's imagine a president who controls one country. today is it easy to talk to president whenever you want??? of course no!!! he controls just one country, but God controls the whole world. however, it isn't difficult to talk to God. you can talk to Him whenever you want, He always listen to you. However, few people talk to God and say "thanks" to Him because of letting them to talk to Him. I just want to say that, if you believe in God, try to show it. God deserves the best of everything. however, He just wants you to love Him.
