Unbelievable discovery
This is the FRESHEST and MOST SHOCKING NEWS!
A Rochester, New York graphic designer and artist has found what he says are images of animals in the Leonardo da Vinci masterpiece. He has found in the priceless painting the image of an ape's face, a lion and other animals. While doing research for an art project Ron Piccirillo used an old artist's trick of looking at a work from a different perspective. "The first couple of images, I spotted as I was doing research, I took the Mona Lisa and turned it on her side and noticed the ape's face and the lion's head," he says. He says he poured over passages in da Vinci's own notebook where he refers to the animals and other clues. "We have the nose, the eyes, we have the mouth and the whole ape face is highlighted and it's facing right. Over here we're looking at the lion's head which is also facing right. It's in the mountainous area but you can see its nose right here. It's almost roaring it seems to me, its eyes here. And the rest of it highlighted," he points out. "So you have the ape's face right here. You have the lion. I call it the roaring lion right here."
However, Ron Piccirillo calls his discovery as an accidental discovery. I'm not sure why I came on this and no one else hasn't," he said.
I think he should not call his discovery accidental it is a huge discovery. I did research on Art from the Renaissance and found that Art during Renaissance is noted for hidden images and meanings.

I totally agree with what Abulfaz thinks. Really, who cares? So, what? Well, that`s his masterpiece but just a painting at the same time. No need to go into the very USELESS, boring details, I think. cool

First of all, thanks for sharing such an interesting post ...Secondly, Yes, I accept that Davinci's works have lots of secrets which still remain uncovered...But on the other hand, I would like to point out that as Arab scientist claimed previously, the European people do exaggerate this personality and claim that lots of technologies that are in use today were developed from the works of Davinci's...But in truth, not all of them belong to him...So in brief, he cheated some of them from the Old Eastern world...So sometimes I don't get so surprised when I hear such kind of novelties from western people....

Yes Orxan, I agree! And there is a short movie(about 15 minutes) about black ages which got more than 10 awards. It was really wonderful movie.

Emin, you said that "You know, it is possible to find anything mysterious in nearly everything..." Yes I agree with you NEARLY in everything. However, Monalisa is not nearly everything! It is one of the best masterpieces in the world.

Orkhan, thanks for the post wink

Well,Da Vinci's life was at least as mysterious as his works,so I think most of his works keep some hidden meanings. We should be ready for more surprising facts biggrin

You know, it is possible to find anything mysterious in nearly everything if a person tries hard. But, in fact, if this person has nothing to do biggrin And have you heard about "The Black Square" by Kazimir Malevich with its completely complicated composition and structure that is considered to be one of the most mysterious painting ever?...

I agree with Shalala and Leila. Leonardo da Vinci was quite a mysterious person, and most of his paintings are ambiguous, especially Mona Lisa. Who knows what else conceals this magnificent smile?

Many works of the epoch of Renaissance may be covered with mystery. However, some researchers may take advantage of this notion in their interests. Maybe, if one tries hard, he will be able to discern some hidden meaning or images on the paintings. Nevertheless, it does not seem to have such a great meaning.:)
